Biography

I completed my bachelor and master degrees in Chemical Engineering in 2011 and 2013, respectively. After finishing my graduating from Ferdowsi University of Mashhad (FUM), I continued research as a research assistant in FUM and joined the University of Queensland as a PhD student in 2017.

Research Project

Title: Synthesising of polymer brush grafted nanoparticles as additives in ionic liquid/oil based lubricants

Advisors: Professor Jason Stokes, Dr Gleb Yakubov, A/Professor Idriss Blakey

Brief Summary of project: Tribology is the science of controlling and managing wear, friction and lubrication. Energy loss and failure of machineries are two of major reasons for friction and wear. As the most effective approach, enhancement of lubricant oil properties would result in protecting machineries from damage as well as decreasing energy consumption. The addition of nanomaterials as additives in base lubricant oil is a rapidly progressing field of research, because nanomaterials are different from traditional bulk materials due to their extremely small size and high specific surface area. In this project, variety of well-defined, highly stable oil-miscible polymer brush-grafted nanoparticles (NPs) as lubricant additives are synthesised. In the next phase, the lubrication properties of the synthesized NPs in base fluids, including ionic liquids and oils are investigated.
