The School of Chemical Engineering offers a range of professional development and education options for industry professionals who wish to advance their technical and professional skills.
Short courses
UQ short courses provide professional engineers with access to the latest in research findings and industry knowledge, contact with key academic staff and the ability to credit courses to postgraduate coursework programs.
Industry-specific short courses are offered through the following Centres:
- Minerals Industry Safety and Health Centre
- Foots Education Program (through the Sustainable Minerals Institute)
- International Water Centre

Postgraduate programs
UQ Engineering offers a range of quality postgraduate coursework (link to UQ Engineering) and research (link to UQ Engineering?) programs enabling students to cross disciplinary boundaries, develop expert skills and get ahead in their chosen field.
Non-award courses
To facilitate training for employees in industry and external organisations and for members of the community, the University allows applicants with a suitable background to enrol in one or more non-award courses (subjects) without the need to be formally admitted to an award program.
