About FIMLab
The FIMLab - Films and Inorganic Membrane Laboratory is one of the premier research laboratories in inorganic membrane technology in Australia.
It focuses on the application of inorganic membrane technology for clean energy delivery, biofuel separation and desalination. The FIMLab is designing new membrane materials with properties appropriate for processing industrial liquid and gas streams at high temperatures and pressures, thus enabling high process efficiencies.
The research strengths of FIMLab are in the following areas:
- Functionalised Inorganic Membranes for Operation at High Temperature (H2/CO2/CO separation)
- Perovskite Membranes for O2 Separation
- Membrane Reactors
- Carbon Molecular Sieve Membranes
- Desalination
- Carbon Capture Materials
- Modelling
- Scale Up / Proof of Concept
