Biography

I am a PhD research scholar with expertise in Applied Colloid and Surface Chemistry. In 2004, I enrolled in Tabriz University of Iran to study Applied Chemistry. There, a one-year voluntary work in an Electrochemistry lab generated an enthusiasm in me for research in basic Chemistry. Thus, after completion of my BSc degree, I moved to Tehran in 2008 for my MSc degree in Physical Chemistry with focus on surfactant solutions. Getting more interested in Colloid and Surface Science, I came to UQ in 2014 to start my PhD program at the School of Chemical Engineering and investigate the surfactant adsorption at air/water interface.   

Research Project

Title: “The Role of Molecular interaction in the adsorption of surfactants at gas/liquid and liquid/solid interfaces”

Advisors: Prof. Anh V Nguyen

Brief Summary of project: Surfactants are widely used in huge amounts in various fields of industry including mining. A comprehensive understanding of their behaviour at interfaces is of key importance to modify industrial process of which surfactants are a part. I am studying surfactant adsorption at interfaces using Sum Frequency Generation Spectroscopy in combination with theoretical models to elucidate their structural organization and adsorption thermodynamics at interfaces.
